At Brittany Rescue in Texas, a rescue mission is often more than a single event—it’s a story of commitment, resilience, and hope. It’s a story made possible by you.

Over the years, we have seen some of the most heart-wrenching cases imaginable. There was Precious, an adult Brittany found starving in an abandoned house, just hours away from death and weighing only 14 pounds. There was Jenny, a senior so severely neglected and matted that her body reeked and her vision was affected.

Then there are the large-scale emergencies, like when we rescued two pregnant and abandoned Brittanys, Annie and Pepper, within three months of each other. Their rescue meant we had to find special care, fostering, and forever homes for 16 Brittanys all at once, in addition to our regular rescue load.

But our mission is also a story of long-term commitment. We will never forget Percy, a six-year-old whose owner passed away, leaving him with an undiagnosed, and ultimately incurable, condition. We committed to his long-term care for six years, managing his condition so he could live a full and happy life until the age of twelve.

Precious, Annie, Pepper, Percy, and hundreds of other Brittanys lived a happy and safe life because of your generosity. Their journeys from neglect to love, from illness to health, and from despair to joy are funded by you.

Your Support is the Lifeline for the Next Rescue

This is where you come in. Stories like these are our reality, and we are committed to helping every Brittany that comes into our care, no matter how dire their situation. On North Texas Giving Day, we have a goal of $30,000 to ensure we can say “yes” the next time the phone rings with a special needs case.

Every $25 makes a difference. Can you spare $25?

Your donation ensures we can cover the costly veterinary care, rehabilitation, and long-term medical management these Brittanys require.

Precious – Starved and left to die

Precious’s story is a powerful reminder of why your donations are so vital. ❤️ She was found in an abandoned house, weighing just 14 pounds and hours away from death. After a week of emergency hospital care and months of dedicated foster care, Precious regained her health. She is now in her forever home, living her best life, “fat and sassy”!

Jenny – The story of a neglected senior Brittany

Jenny was rescued by the granddaughter of an elderly man who had not been able to take care of her for many years. We have seen a lot in our years rescuing Brittanys, but Jenny’s condition really shocked us!
When we first met Jenny, her body reeked from all her issues…filthy skin, coat, teeth, ears, and covered in mats. She was emaciated and suffering from heartworms, severe ear infections, and neurological issues. Many would have given up on her, but BRIT is committed to helping every Brittany no matter how dire their situation. Jenny received urgent hospital care, dental surgery, medication, and, for the last 18 months of her life, a home filled with love and good food. The transformation was remarkable.

Your donation gives us the funding we need to save special needs cases like Jenny and give them a final chapter filled with happiness and care. ❤️ Please donate to BRIT during #NTXGD: https://www.northtexasgivingday.org/organization/Brittany-Rescue-In-Texas

Annie and Pepper – Pregnant & homeless

Annie and Pepper’s story is a testament to why we need your support. Rescued within three months of each other, these two pregnant and abandoned girls needed us. Annie delivered 9 puppies, and Pepper delivered 5—that’s a total of 16 Brittanys who needed life-saving care and forever homes in a very short time!
This is where your generosity comes in. It gives us the funding we need to rescue special needs cases and handle these large-scale, costly situations. Your donation ensures we can be there for every Brittany.

Percy – a lifelong commitment

Six-year-old Percy came to BRIT after his owner passed away. He was quickly adopted, but his new family soon noticed un-Brittany like behaviors (extreme lethargy, excessive thirst/hunger and urination). Diagnosed with Cushing’s Disease, Percy’s family knew they were looking at years of medical management. So, they asked BRIT for help.
…And we did—for six years….
Thanks to your support, Percy lived a full and happy life, passing away at the age of 12. His journey is a testament to the long-term commitment we make to every Brittany.
This is where your generosity comes in. Your support gives us the funding we need to manage large-scale, costly, and ongoing special needs cases like Percy’s. Your donation ensures we can be there for every Brittany.
