Howdy ya’ll! My name is “Duke.” I’ve always been Duke and my new friends at BRIT are just fine with that. All of us Brittanys who come to BRIT do have a bit of a story to tell. I happen to know my story! My owners decided that the new chapter of their lives didn’t include me. I’ve been with them all of my almost 8 years and I am a touch sad that my family outgrew their love for me. But that’s all in the past and I’m ready to turn my attention and affections to you!

I’ll be 8 years old in about two months and I’ve been loved and cared for all my life. I’m quite a handsome, mature gentleman if I do say so myself! I have great manners and know the basics of sit, come, etc. I’m pretty good on leash, I’ve broken the house, whatever that means [housebroken, ya know…]. I get along with other dogs and people of all ages and sizes. Not sure if I like cats or not, I suppose we can find out. I enjoy romping in the yard but I also really like family time indoors! My new friends want to tell you a few things about me while I’m outside making sure the backyard is safe from marauding critters!

Duke is a wonderfully sweet boy! He does have manners and is the great balance between Brittany exuberance and chill laid back guy. We recently had him at a public event, he was exceptionally well behaved, greeted everyone courteously and with great charm. He was content to lay or sit next to us as we talked with the public. He is mature but with plenty of joy for living! He’s up to date on his shots, heartworm negative and on preventative, neutered and microchipped.

Duke is one of those Brittanys who has lived as the only dog, but gets along with other dogs. He could be great at living in a condo or home with a smaller yard. He does like to run in the yard, but is good on leash too. If you think that Duke is the guy for you, please put his name on the adoption application!
